What
is THE WEEKLY NEWS QUIZ GAME?
The QUIZ GAME is a perfect tool to enhance any lesson plan or home
school program. THE WEEKLY NEWS QUIZ GAME incorporates the television
game show format into a classroom setting to encourage participation
and interest in current events. The questions are derived from recent
stories which have been reported in national news forums and also
include general knowledge questions based on history and annual
events. Each week, we will supply you with 99 exciting questions
and answers needed to play the game. The rules and guidelines of
the game are printed on each issue and can be modified to suit your
particular needs. The teacher reads the questions aloud and serves
as the moderator and answer judge.
What is the
subject breakdown of the questions?
The percentage of questions in such categories as world events and
leaders, national events and leaders, sports, entertainment, geography,
history, etc. will vary from week to week depending on the news.
The questions are valued at 5 points for the easiest, 10 points
for the moderately difficult and 15 points for the most difficult.
Keep in mind that even the most difficult questions are easy if
students have done their research.

stories in these sources so you may choose to use just some or none
at all. Local newspapers which use a national news services can
be used as reference, as well as television news programs and internet
news sources. No additional equipment is necessary, although some
schools training competitive quiz teams use electronic bells or
lights to better determine which student answers first.

NEWS QUIZ GAME?
